New Things Are Happening

The last 3 months have been amazing exciting and busy. In February, our youth building suffered a devastating flood due to a ruptured water line. Since then our youth ministry as limped along with fragmented program. Along with the loss of our “ministry home” the church was closing in on the completion of construction at our new facility. To say ministry was interesting is an understatement.

Three weeks ago, we began moving some of the church, youth, children, and office materials into the new building. Two weeks ago, I started the audio/video installation. We used a wonderful Christian company called, Church Solutions Group to as our design and installation team while we provided a great number of volunteers to assist throughout the process. This past Saturday was our final move. Sunday our final worship in the old sanctuary. Monday was the first day in our new offices. This coming Sunday will be the first services in the new space. Sunday night will be our first youth group in the new space. Life and ministry have been whirlwinds of activity, meetings, moving, packing, unpacking, installation, and setting up.

New things are happening everywhere. New church, new Sunday school rooms, new church members and visitors, new offices, new ministries being talked about, and a new hope, excitement, and energy for Kingdom work in our community. It’s exciting to say the least. But at the same time there is this air of wonder and expectation.

What will God do with all these, “NEW-ness”? How will these new ministries come together? What will they look like? Who will they reach? Who will God use, raise up, from our current membership to serve Him in new ways?

How will God be glorified by all that happens here?

I know I will have much to write about in the coming weeks. God has been so faithful and generous throughout all the prayer, planning, fund raising, construction, dreaming, moving, and now our first official weekend in our new “home.”

God is Good!
