Parenting, Social Media, Culture, Faith

It’s a fast-paced world. Activities, sports, school, family calendars; parents sometimes have a hard time keeping up with all that’s going on around us. Then throw in the constantly changing world of culture and social media, and you find that keeping up with world is nearly impossible.

As a parent, I want what’s best for my kids. I want to know they are safe. I want to know who they hang out with. I want to know the music, movie, and TV shows they are watching. I want to know when the are browsing. I want to know what they are posting, tweeting, snapchatting, LIKEing, and Instagramming. And I don’t think I’m the only parent who feels and thinks this way.

At the start of the new year, I launched a company called, Jay Higham Media, LLC. The purpose of the company is to help small businesses and organizations discover the benefits of social media. But more than just serving businesses, I realize that many parents have very little understand or education when it comes to social media.

In last weeks post, I announced a desire to come along side parents to help education and inform them about the ever changing world of technology. I have already started revamping this blog site for the purpose of education and information. To my current followers and readers, I hope that you will continue to stay on and join the discussion about culture and social media.

In just a few more days, I will begin posting articles and tips, as well as recommendations, reviews, and stats that will hopefully readers as they navigate the world of social media and technology.
