Kiwanis Baseball Update – Last Weeks Games

With the rain that fell last week, we have had a weekend full of baseball. So let me bring you up to dated.

Lions 9, Kiwanis 5
SOMERSET — The Lions downed Kiwanis 9-5 in Somerset Little League baseball action.

Grant Norris and Ryan Funa partnered for the Lions on the mound. John Heller led the offense with two hits. Tyler Fochtman, Ethan Svonavec, Derek Talley and Norris all hit safely.

Tyler Sherbine led Kiwanis with two hits. Nate Higham, Peyton Marteeny and Jack Schrock all singled.

Higham and Marteeny split the pitching duties for Kiwanis.

Tuesday, May 8th – Game postponed till Saturday afternoon. Here is the article posted this morning.

Rotary 12, Kiwanis 0
SOMERSET — Rotary outscored Kiwanis 12-0 in a rescheduled game in Somerset Little League baseball action on Saturday afternoon at the Stadium Drive complex.

Ethan Hunt was the winning pitcher for Rotary and powered the offense with a solo home run in the first inning and a grand slam round tripper in the third.

Hunter Stoy picked up the save in relief and contributed two hits of his own for Rotary. Rookie Shane Chabol fueled a third inning rally with a two-run single down the right field line. Hunt and Stoy combined allowing only one Kiwanis hit while striking out six batters.

Kiwanis mound duties were shared by starter Nate Higham, reliever Phil Hinebaugh and closer Peyton Marteeny. They struck out five Rotary hitters. Tyler Sherbine had the lone hit for Kiwanis.

There was also a game played on Friday, May 11th, and a game played on Sunday, May 13th. I will post the game details as soon as they are available.
